ANATOMY OF JEE
JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination)
JEE is a national level Entrance Test to be conducted from the year 2013, for all
students who seek admission in engineering courses in colleges in India.
JEE : Two Stage Exam
The JEE Examination will have two stage examinations namely JEE (Main) and
JEE (Advanced). The questions will be of objective type, designed to test
comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of students. Each of the
question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics. In both the exams, incorrect answers will be given negative marks.
JEE (Main) Examination
This is an admission criterion to undergraduate engineering programmes at
NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions and institutions funded by several participating State Governments. It will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) Examination.
JEE (Advanced) Examination
The students have to appear for the JEE (Advanced) Examination if he/she is
aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
This exam will have two question papers, each of three hours duration.
